Artist's Comments

This was taken the same night as Portland Skyline, but I played with the colors in CameraRaw a bit.

I've been looking at my photos this week to remind me that my favorite places and sights still exist. :) I'm more than three hundred miles from home right now. It doesn't seem like much, but it's something like four and a half hours to the nearest point on the Maine coastline. It's five and a half to Portland. Six to home. I feel so... landlocked.

I guess I'm just a little homesick.

Low tide around Back Cove! I do my morning walks around there sometimes.

Lovely shot, especially since I only live a few minutes from there, pretty much off Monument Square.

:) It was actually fog, that night. Often times, smog, yes.

Thanks for the comment!

Thank you. I'd love for it to be on a huge poster. I think I'm going to try to reshoot it the next time I happen through Portland on a foggy night. I didn't get the nice star effect on this one that I did the first. If it never happens again, though, I'm all set with this one. :)

There were people jogging when I took this one. I'm not fond of being in the area at night (alone). My dad used to work in the area and told me all sorts of stories of all the scary folk he ran into.

Good to hear from someone who knows the area. :)

Yeah, I mean I've seen people jogging around Back Cove at 3AM. Crack dealer or exercise fanatic? who knows...

Always cool to find people from around here, even though it looks like you're kinda far off now...
